How it works
- The Solartwin panel/s on your roof absorb heat from the sun – they are known as collectors
- The water in the panels heats up
- This heated water is pumped through your cylinder
Solar thermal, also known as solar hot water, can reduce the energy required to heat your hot water for washing and bathing by as much as 70%, saving you money on your energy bills and reducing your carbon footprint.
Genfit offer the award winning Solartwin system, a flat plate system which looks similar to a PV panel. It is best mounted on a roof or wall in a sunny spot and is easily incorporated into your existing hot water system. The Solartwin panel absorbs heat from the sun through collectors that are independently monitored and controlled to provide optimum solar PV powered pumping of hot water into your hot water cylinder. This level of control reacts to shading of an area of the panel, increasing the output of unshaded collectors, therefore maximising efficiency of the system.
Solar thermal represents a cost effective solution to reduce your carbon footprint and the system is designed to operate efficiently for over twenty years.
A standard Solartwin installation starts from £2500 providing free hot water for 1-4 people for most of the year. Life expectancy is 20 years+ with service recommended every 5 years
